Texas-based printmaker Elvia Perrin uses abstract imagery, geometric lines and clean-cut shapes in her handmade, minimalist wall art.

The artist: Born in Rosenberg, TX, Perrin earned a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in studio art, and an MFA in printmaking at the University of North Texas in Denton.

After college, she worked as a collaborator, printer and artist at Flatbed Press + Gallery in Austin for seven years and has taught printmaking for more than a decade.

Over the years, Perrin has exhibited extensively, and is co-founder and former executive director of PrintAustin, a city-wide contemporary print event.

She currently is a lecturer of art at Texas State University while working in her home printmaking studio in Austin.

The art: Graphic monoprints, lithographs and etchings with abstract and pattern-based designs, mostly in black, blue, tan and white ($50 to $2,000).

Most popular print: “Bridge,” a shaped-based intaglio created from etching wood strips into copper ($800).

Currently, has five prints selling through Pottery Barn.
A 21-piece original etching series, her largest commission, for a bank in the Northeast.
Prints for Crate & Barrel and TRNK, a New York design studio, curator and retailer.
Artwork appeared in several TV shows, films, including, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017), and in various hotel and hospitality collections.

What’s new: Exploring how to create handmade matrixes out of cardboard printed as relief prints.
