geoffrey aaron harris

Inspired by his collection and fascination with antique toys and games from the 1950s, South Carolina digital painter Geoffrey Aaron Harris strives to create unique and contemporary artwork with a nostalgic quality.

Artist: Born on a naval base in Keflavik, Iceland, Harris lived in many places growing up, from Alaska to South Carolina. From an early age, he enjoyed painting and drawing but received no formal training.

At the University of South Carolina, Geoffrey was a business major and earned degrees in management and management science. After graduating in 1985, he went to work for General Motors in Detroit, MI, as an employee of Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He worked there as a Software Systems Engineer for five years. In 1990, he became a Senior Consultant with Price Waterhouse in Charlotte, NC.

On Feb. 1, 1992, Geoffrey quit his corporate career and moved back to South Carolina to fulfill his dream of becoming an artist. Today he travels and exhibits at juried art festivals throughout the United States.

Company/studio: Geoffrey Aaron Harris creates his artwork at his home in Lexington, SC. The start of 2023 marked his 30th year of exhibiting and selling his artwork.

Art & materials: Digital paintings created entirely on a computer and printed with archival inks and paper ($35 to $450).

Process:

Creates his digital paintings on a 27-inch Apple iMac Computer using a free Open Source illustration software program called Inkscape.
Prints a limited edition of his artwork with an EPSON Stylus Pro 3800 printer using archival inks and paper.
Mats and frames his work using archival materials.

Fun commission: Created an album cover for jazz guitarist Derick Cordoba in 2022.
