The art & materials: Figurative paintings on both canvases and watercolor paper with acrylic and watercolor and gouache paints.
What’s popular: Her bold, colorful “ladies” paintings ($200 to $6,000) have attracted new galleries and clients.
“This body of work has been a rebirth for me creatively,” said Love, who for the last five years has been painting mostly landscapes.
Inspirations:
- The love and reverence she has for all the women in her life: “The women who have shaped me, lifted me up when I needed it, laughed with me, and inspired me.”
- Fashion and interior design.
- Shapes and patterns in fabric and wallpaper.
Fun or special commissions: A painting of a little girl and her mother in her abstract style.
What’s next: Participating for the second time in Artclectic in Nashville, Oct. 20-22. The annual art show and sale benefits the University School of Nashville.
